So, driving through an incorporated part of Issaquah, we came across a couple fireworks stand. My husband wanted to stop and buy some, even though, living in Issaquah, we don't actually have a place to set them off. When they were starting to outlaw fireworks all over CA, one year there was a city where it was still legal, and hundreds of people congregated in a big parking lot and set off fireworks there. Any place like that in WA??

Or any other suggestions of where we can go to set them off (we didn't get anything spectacular, just some snakes, some ground spinning things and sparklers and stuff).

Thanks!

V. =)

You might find this link useful. Only from 9Pm to midnight is freworks discharge legal, in only some cities and in unincorporated King County( of which here is a lot of).

Department of Development and Environmental Services- King County (http://www.metrokc.gov/PERMITS/fire/fireworks.aspx - broken link)

If you don't mind the traffic and massive number of people, the Muckleshoot Indian Reservation in Auburn, WA sells a massive amount of fireworks and has a firing range that allows you to light them off. I can see it from my house and get a nice display of very expensive fireworks each evening.

Be warned that the traffic is pretty intense to get there and back, and there's gobs of people there. Lots of the high school crowd.

You're right about "NOT" fun, since blown off fingers, blown out eyes, dead pets, burning hair, house fires and tree fires are no fun at all. Excellent law.

Ditto. Seems like every year immediately after the 4th we get to read about someone doing one of those things - to himself or to someone else. I prefer to let the licensed professionals do it and just watch and enjoy (if I feel like fighting traffic, that is).

I like fireworks. I've lit off hundreds of them and never had as close to a single accident. I don't care for the nanny laws that we have around here that are supposed to protect us from ourselves, and consider the firework ban to be one of those.

I own acerage out here so I don't have neighbors that will be bothered by them. So why can't I light them off on July 3rd?

It's also fun to waste money.

Well, yeah...... That's what casinos are for.......

Heh heh. Have you ever been inside that place? I used to work in Auburn. Many days, I have gone inside there for lunch. It is full of old people just sitting there..and spending money. I don't gamble. I find it boring and pointless.

They have a good sushi place inside...mmmm.... sushi.

I guess buying sushi is sort of a waste of money. I could just make it at home. Then again, I could take those free paper bags from the supermarket and fill them full of confetti and blow them up with my sushi breath and then *BAM* smack them and "Ooooh" and "Aaaah" and it would be cool.

Or, I could just buy some fireworks and blow them up .
