I saw D. Black a few months back, I wasn't feeling it. Actually the whole Sport'n'Life lineup is kind of weak, but that's just my opinion. I guess it's just not really my style. Blue Scholars is primed to blow up nationally, they are too strong to remain a regional powerhouse. One of my favorite up and comers is The Physics.

"There are only so much black people here in a county named after Martin Luther King, JR. (King County, Seattle) "
FYI, King County was originally named after a guy named William Rufus King but in the mid eighties the county council decided to change the namesake of King County to Martin Luther King. So really the county wasn't "named" after MLK. I don't remember there being much trouble at the time since the WRK was not a Washington resident and didn't have family here that would be upset by the County Council's motion.

I wouldn't worry about being out of place due to clothing as another posted said. Ive been to weddings where people wear shorts and Tevas. Its pretty laxed here. Everyone has their own style.

Are there certain venues that are well known for hosting hip hop shows? I am especially interested in underground and would like to see some of the local talents as well.

Neumo's on Capitol Hill, Chop Suey just south of Cap. Hill near Seattle University, and Nectar in Fremont are the big three when it comes to local hip hop shows.
