I had a doctor who held several degrees in pharmacology. I asked him about some medication that I had with expired dates. He told me that with the exceptions of anti-biotics and liquids most meds will not expire that he expiration date. However, he did say that those drugs must be kept properly. Keeping medications in the bathroom with all that humidity is not the way to go.
In a survival situation where there are no medications available or in limited amounts having outdated medications would be far better than none at all.
