I hope it never comes to that.
Against Police, National Guard or whoever else would be appointed by the government.
Good luck with that

You could get one of these, which is made to be buried -

500 Gallon Norweso Plastic Septic Tank 43522

- and fill it with 5 gallon buckets of dried goods, canned goods, extra clothing, medical supplies, extra ammo, a spare rifle or sidearm, boots, blankets, and camping gear. Bury it in an inconspicuous place that only you know about, and you have some survival insurance against both looters and government. If you set up 2-3 of these, all the better. Just remember exactly where they are!

It really does look like media coverage of hurricane Katrina may have been denied/blocked to New Orleans residents as no city wanted to take the population out of path of the hurricane. This was first presidential decision made by President Obama. All the buses and government owned equipment was moved empty. Families moved up to top floor in their homes as the water rose, until they had to punch through the ceiling and climb onto the roof. Families on the roofs still drown......

You do make a good point about who is looking out for who...But, when we do finally go to hell, I think it will be marshal law in bigger cities to deal with the nuts and stone soup (share to avoid getting killed) in the rural areas with some distance from cities.

in the UK there are only 136,000 Police and about 100,000 Troops, this to "police" a population of 64 million? the general thought is TPTB will probably try and hang on to London-population 7 million+ and maybe Birmingham another million, but most smaller towns and villages will just be left to get on with it as best they can.

Can we send some of our surplus police across the pond to you? They're only a little gun-happy....

I'm an old man; I could do a better job alone than their police can do.

That doesn't matter to quite a few folks. Bush was also president when USA went into Iraq on false pretenses, so what it cost us trillions of dollars (same trillions that could be used to provide free college education or healthcare to fellow Americans), thousands of American lives and who knows how many tens of thousands of Iraqi lives, all based on some bogus lie....
