In order to do that it takes devaluing the person being consumed.
The problem is It becomes a convenience not a necessity, and that is where the real problem begins
the movie "The Road" is a good example.

There's something sinister in this post. Something sinister indeed. I know I said I'd be willing to take one for the team but let's not rush to that decision point, yes?

Nothing, but, I hope you don't mean murdering people to eat them. I guess if people have died and you eat them to stay alive that is ok otherwise I personally find it a little unpleasant since I have plenty of food options other than eating my SO at this time.

^ Even as a last resort in a survival situation many consider it a taboo.

Prions are why we don't and shouldn't practice cannibalism. As a survival strategy, I cannot judge, but as a regular integral part of our diet, it's a flat out no go. Here is why
https://news.utexas.edu/2011/07/14/cannibalism

I'm a cultural anthropologist and know of several cultures that consume their dead or the conquered, and while my anthropological side cannot judge and invokes cultural relativism, the other side of me says it can be and has proven to be extremely dangerous and counterproductive to survival.

The thread that keeps on giving.

I think what got me on this subject was the movie, "A Boy and His Dog." Anybody see it?

The "boy" rescues a young lady after the apocalypse, has adventures and after the boy the girl, and his dog survive all the crazies... they are starving in the wasteland, the boy and girl hungrily look at the dog.

Then the camera shows the boy and dog walking away burping and the boy says, "Well she wasn't much to look at, but she had good taste."

The original was a short novel written by Harlan Ellison. I found the ending very pleasing. The book was far superior to the movie.

Thanks for reminding me.
