I also volunteered to be a nurse at ARCH in Austin Texas. It is a homeless shelter. And by the way, there were bums attending ACC to learn to be auto mechanics.

No, it's more like some people do not mince their words. Some people speak plainly. What does the word "bum" mean? What is the definition? Look it up.

Two things have done their fair share of turning society into a joke (is it okay to use the word "joke"?): political correctness and smartphones. But the smartphone epidemic is fodder for another thread on a different forum. And political correctness belongs on another forum as well. Remember, we are lunatic survivalists here. We don't have time to play PC games with words. We are too busy training for Armageddon.

It's worth noting that many of the people who find "bum" to be offensive would have no problem using the word "nutjob" to describe a prepper and/or preparedness advocate and/or survivalist. So I guess it all just depends on your opinions and social persuasions as to which words are derogatory and should not be used, and which words are derogatory but okay to use.

Wow, did you hit the nail on the head! Absolutely right, they have zero problems with calling us nutjobs, wackos, and paranoid over here! But...call a bum a bum, or an addict an addict, and all the SJWs come crawling out of the wallpaper! And I guess we all think we're better than they are, because we don't need or accept government assistance!

Listen, if all the bleeding hearts want to go out and help the street people, let them. I for one will not call them any names for doing that. All I ask in return is, let us discuss over here what we think is important, and stop calling us names for doing so.
