Anybody see this? A man found a secret 120 year old tunnel under his house in Plymouth, in the UK.

If I ever build a survival mansion I gotta have one of these, with a secret escape passage.

The only problem is finding workers to excavate it, who "won't be missed..."

OK, I've been under quarantine eating ramen in the bunker too long.

But it would be a pretty cool thing to have. Maybe a wine cellar, or armory?

Pretty neat discovery! I know one thing, though. I would NOT be telling the world about a underground tunnel that is under my house. I'd have way too many security concerns going forward, especially if I had (or people thought I had) something of value in my house.

I know someone who built an underground house, very nice, with grass on the roof, that has tunnels underneath it to outbuildings.

seems like it was more of a garbage dump than a tunnel

Basically walled off an illegal dumping area for home rebuilding rubbish. At best this man has found himself a liability and a few days of hard labor. But, at least it doesn't have a ton of rats in it.

Not much of a tunnel. It's more like a '60s cold war fallout shelter. I very much doubt it's 120 years old. More like 60.

That sounds cool. Cuts way down on heat and air costs too.

I have a friend with an underground shooting range right in city limits. His lot had a storm drain about 8 feet deep on it. He simply covered it up and built a garage on it. A manhole cover is the door. Really cool.

Well, don't build it right under the house. Maybe somewhere in the backyard. If you build it under the house and can get into it through a closet, for example, then you will always be worried, that someone could also get in from under the house.
