I had a friend live in a foreign country. In Dec 2014, he told me he want to buy some perfume online , and he want to ship these items to my home address, then I would mail these items to an oversea shipping service to mail him back in his country.

In December 2014 , I received 22 bottles of perfume, and I mailed all of them to that shipping service, I still keep the tracking receipt.

Today , I received many letters from a seller that claimed there was a credit card dispute in paying those perfume . And they require me to pay for those. I have no idea what is going on, so please help, what should I do now ?

In the letters , that online seller told me that if I can not pay or return the perfumes, they will use a collector agency.

Mod note: This topic was cross-posted in another forum and the two threads have been merged here. If some posts appear out of order, that is the reason.

Do nothing. It all sounds like a scam to me and it sounds like your "friend" is not one.

I would also strongly scrutinize your financials..These scammer are very deft in getting info like this and searching out you're particulars..Maybe even notify your bank to monitor for strange transactions. (have your accounts flagged) Identity theft is so easy nowadays..BE Vigilent.. Take it from someone who fell victim to this a few decades ago!!

thanks for the advice, i have no idea of what is going on. i am afraid to be involved in trouble in the future. In the letters , that online seller told me that if I can not pay or return the perfumes, they will use a collector agency. And those 22 bottle of perfume are not in my hand , I mailed them to that shipping service already.

How did he get YOUR credit card number? You didn’t give it to him did you?

If you did give him your card number, then CLOSE the account and start with a new one. It’s a scam that is possibly already in place.

It sounds like the olde' colored water perfume scam. If there is not a valid order in your name showing that you personally ordered those items and agreed to pay for them then the collecting agency has no legal leg to stand on, in other words ignore the collector and do not get involved in a shipping transfer scam again. They cannot do anything to you.

No, he did not have my credit card number. What I am afraid is that he might use a stolen credit card to buy the perfume under my name and have me deliver it to the shipping service.

Default Deal with unordered merchandise

I have a friend live in a foreign country. In Dec 2014, he texted me that he bought some perfume online , and these perfume were sent to my home address. He asked me to mail those perfume to another cargo service , so that the cargo service can mail the perfumes to him in his country.

In December 2014 , I received 22 bottles of perfume, and I mailed all of them to that shipping service, I still keep the tracking receipt.

Today , I received many letters from a seller that claimed there was a credit card dispute in paying those perfume . The credit card disputed items were refunded directly to the original method of payment.

And they require me to pay for those 22 bottles or return them.In the letters , that online seller told me that if I can not pay or return the perfumes, they will use a collector agency. I have no idea what is going on, so please help, what should I do now ?

Contact your friend and asked why he did not pay for them.
