No I don't want to have my battery decreased by another active Bluetooth device and use an adapter. I'm an Android guy and wouldn't continue as such if they went the same route.
Eh, just because Apple and Motorola are doing it doesn't mean everyone will.
Couldn't rep you again, but I agree completely. Just because some people think that removing the headphone jack is the future doesn't mean that it is, that every company will do it, or that costumers will buy devices without it over devices with that feature. I'm still using a 5 year old wired mouse, and you can still get many variations of them. Why? Because there are many people just like me who dislike wireless mice because they go through batteries constantly. Many people also swore DVDs were a thing of the past. They've been around since 1995 and are still going strong.

I agree with you on this point. However, people bitched when floppy drives were removed, and again when optical drives were removed. New technology replaces older technology - it's just the way it is. The jack will eventually become a thing of the past as phone manufacturers make water/dust resistant phones.
I like the idea of earbuds, too. But I know eventually they will be replaced. And when that happens I'll have to adapt. I'm still using an iPad 2 second gen, running ios 7.x. Afraid to upgrade to 9. It's working fine but can't do many things a newer ipad can do. I'll live with it until it becomes obsolete, then cave and get another.
To answer the OP's question - no, my iPhone 6 works fine, thank you. I'll wait til the 8 arrives and see what I think. Who knows, I may just look for an Android or whatever else is out there.
My point is - change in technology is inevitable, and no matter what we think or feel about it, it's going to happen. I'm slow to change but eventual I have to. And I've been in IT for 40 yrs so it's been a challenge.
Apple has released the next generation of the iPhone. That's iPhone 7.
Would you buy it?
i heard there's no difference other than a port or something like that? i have the 6 but i liked my previous phone which was the 5 i guess, the smaller heavier version, that was a much better phone, the only reason the 6 is better than the 5 is the screen size, other than that, not as good.
Samsung's latest phones are IP68 rated - can be dunked in 1 m of fresh water for 30 minutes. A waterproof 3.5 mm jack can be engineered.
I would guess that this is true, but it would be easier to do away with the jack. It also allows for something else in its place, slightly larger battery, or some other feature.
Not....I used to prefer I-Phones, and I still might, but the price is too high. Apple has advantages and Android has advantages but one big advantage to the Android is price.
After years of having a Verizon family plan, I finally got out of contract. I wasn't going to give up my unlimited data so I had to buy my own phones.
Finally I opted out because there was no longer an advantage. I have good service at a much cheaper rate now but I have to buy my own phones so I settle for what is affordable. This means I could afford to purchase an Apple 5 or 6 but 7 is out of my price range.
I don't like the earphone protocol. One should have a choice, when one is paying the big bucks.
