My boss wants all employees to be on walkie and has tasked me with buying earpieces. He says once we have them, they will largely be part of the dress code and we'll have to have them in at all times, which I am not super looking forward to. If it is the case we will have to wear them all day, what is generally the most comfortable type?

I've narrowed it to the bottom links but open to other suggestions.

I have found that people have individual preferences when it comes to earpieces, headphones, earbuds, etc. Everyone's ears are shaped differently.

Is there an option to allow a choice among 3 approved products, maybe?

This.

But also - in my experience, "acoustic tube" w/ molded earpieces are the way to go. Anything that sits "on" the ear will be uncomfortable after anything more than 1-2 hours.

Also - who maintains your radio network? Have you consulted them? They usually know what works best w/ your setup. Or are these consumer/off the shelf radios?

The over-the-ear models are extremely uncomfortable if you wear glasses, and while you may not be wearing masks now, there's a good possibility that you'll have to if this current COVID surge worsens. You can only have so many things stuck behind your ears. Those 2 Amazon photos show one guy with his glasses tilted out of position (he'd never be able to see if he had bifocals or progressives) and another person with his/her earlobe bent up.
