I wouldn't be surprised if you see this happening to more chains. No one has any money to buy anything anymore.

Hmmm will have to keep any eye out and see if the liquidation sales start..sheets towels etc for one of the kids who moved into his own place

Sad to see it go but I still have some shopping to do. I bought a bunch of bathroom/kitchen/patio items for my new place. If it happens soon, I'll be first in line.

Not always, but most of the time it does unless someone bails them out. People are sick of buying cheap lead-laden Chinese mad junk from places like this, so that's not helping them out.

I disagree - filing BK is often a strategic move in order to reorganize debt as is in the current case of Frontier Airlines -

It's much more common with airlines than other businesses. Comp Usa filed bk and is done, Sofa Express and more filed BK and is done, etc. America West airlines filed bk and was then snatched up by US Airways. Airlines are probably one of the few exceptuions to the rule.

Actually AW bought US Airways - AW was not in BK when they bought US Air

There are many examples of companies filing BK and emerging stronger.

Same with individuals - one glaring example is Donald Trump
