What are the widest cable zip ties that exist that are for heavy duty?

They are available in up to 250 lb tensile strength in nylon/plastic, and up to 485 lbs in stainless steel. I have not seen them sold by width, but rather by strength, but I have seen them 1/2" wide at Grainger.

*sigh* Look up hose clamps. Skip the tape and cable ties and get the job done.

OP, instead of starting thread after thread for your birdfeeder repair, why don't you just go down to the hardware store (NOT Home Despot) and ask the oldest clerk there how to solve your problem?

Alternately, ask the neighbor with the toolbox and the truck and the grey hair.

I did. I just went to home depot and lowe's yesterday and they don't know.

Home depot and Lowe's are NOT hardware stores.

Surely your neighborhood has SOMEONE living in it other than helpless millennials.

What you need is an old guy with a truck, a toolbox, and grease under his fingernails. (Sorry ladies, yes, there are some of you who are qualified, please disregard the casual sexism...) Mexican old guy is even better.

I'd think it would be very difficult to slip a looped ziptie over the head of a mad goose. But if you can do it, you might want to NOT post up the video...

Search for the sizes available as the brand name "Ty-Rap" on the Thomas and Betts website. You can get these with or without a locking tag. Use black indoors only. White works well outdoors under UV rays.

You might want to check out adjustable heavy duty Velcro straps Could be some wider ones.
