I returned a pair of gloves to Kohl's. One glove was 1/2 the size of the other!
It cost me 1/2 the price of the gloves in shipping charges. I have decided to limit my Kohl's orders from now on since their quality control has gotten so bad.
I've been trying to make a return to Walmart for the last month, but everytime I'm in there, the customer service area is closed due to staffing issues. Cashier's can't do returns in the checkout lanes, so I have to just wait to be able to return...
I returned a shirt which was purchased at Macy's. It was never worn and all of the tags were attached.
Macy's return policy has contracted to a 90 day period in which a customer is allowed to return merchandise. I'm not aware when this policy changed, but for a long period of time customers were given 180 days to return items to Macy's.
Perhaps this another example of how retailers have adapted to changing shopping habits and the continuing decline in number of actual physical stores.
May be a bit off-topic, but in order to dispute a credit-card charge you have to make an attempt to return it to the merchant and work out the dispute. In April 1987, for my thirtieth birthday, my girlfriend and I went out to a Chinese restaurant reputed to be "top grade" and certainly charged that way. When I got back to my apartment I "returned" the food to my porcelain throne in the form of Technicolor Yawn. When I wrote American Express, I explained that my "merchandise return" could not wait. The restaurant allowed the charge to be comped and said I could come for a free meal. When we went about a month later, the restaurant had been sold. The new owner reluctantly honored the deal, but was not happy.

I did tip.
Not sure what you are complaining about - if it was bad food report that but if maybe didn't agree with you.....
