I used to bring sturdy beach totes, not for any 'concerns,' but simply because they held a lot, and I could hang them from my shoulder and have hands free for keys, etc.

Also...I knitted or crocheted a lot of bags for bulky, lightweight items.

Don't use either of them now. Strictly plastic.

For years I used one of those net bags but I must have misplaced it. In my mind that is the classic reusable shopping bag style, but they don't seem to have caught on.

Now I have a motley collection of canvas and heavy duty plastic bags made of a tarp-like material. I have also used one of those massive IKEA bags.

It depends upon what I am short on. I use the plastic bags as trash can liners for the small waste paper baskets. I use the paper bags to hold recycle paper.

At Costco and the restaurant supply, I just have my purchase put back into my cart without any bag or box.

I use the plastic produce bags for pooper scoopers when I walk the dogs.

Actually, I'm not real particular on how they're bagged; as long as the containers don't break, we're in good shape.

Reusable, paper or plastic.

If I'm going to be charged for the bag(s), I'm using my own in store.

For the sake of speed in Wallyworld I just use their plastic bags and transfer into my reusable later on. I save the plastic bags to use for trash bags in garbage cans. I always bring some kind of reusable bag with me.

We keep our reusable bags in our car. We’ve used them for about a decade now. We were given a bunch by our former insurance agent.

One of our grocers gives us paper bags, instead of allowing us to bring our bags into the store. This became policy because of covid. The other grocer allows us to bring and use our own bags, which I prefer.

We don’t use bags at Costco, or at least not for many things.

same here. when they went for the thick plastic, I was unable to re-purpose them for wastebasket liners. Now I usually round them all up and toss out daily. I now also buy glad trash bags for the waste basket liners. I actually produce about 200% more garbage and plastic for the landfills because of the new laws in CA.

but hey, someone's getting rich over it, no doubt. I doubt it was ever about the environment or saving the landfills.

The store I go to does not allow you to bring bags in so she waits in the car.
I hate the plastic bags because it requires too many of them. What would fit in 4 paper bags takes about 15 plastic ones.

I used to love paper, then they stopped using them. Now with covid, they don't let us bring our reusable plastics in the store, so I just have them dump my stuff back in the shopping cart and I bag my own at the car. I do not need any more bags even if they aren't charging right now.
