My wife and I are planning a trip later this year for our family to check out the area, but the two of us might come up alone for our anniversary next month. We have checked prices on many airlines and through many sites on the net and found that if we fly into large airports it's much cheaper than flying into smaller ones. We have looked as far away as Minneapolis, Mn. which is within driving distance to get better rates.
Just thought I'd ask local residents for information on larger airports near the Sioux Falls area. Where can we fly in to and drive to the Sioux Falls area from ?
Any suggestions on finding inexpensive travel plans would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
If you can go to orlando i think its cheap to fly to sioux falls on Allegiant Air. Otherwise if you can get Southwest to Omaha would be good as well.
Allegiant also has direct flights to Phoenix and Las Vegas.
Years ago I priced tickets to Virgina and picked a couple different airports, Pierre, Rapid, and Sioux Falls. On Northwest the best fares were out of Pierre. But that was years ago. It amounts to shopping around for best rates.
If you're in Brandon Florida, it would be smartest to go to www.allegiantair.com and check out tickets from Orlando to Sioux Falls. That's going to be the cheapest and easiest. It's only 80 miles from Brandon to Orlando, versus a couple hour drive from Omaha to Sioux Falls in a rental car. You may also get a great deal on a rental car and hotels from this site also. Order tickets early, they are pretty cheap the earlier you buy (average right now for November is $80 each way, which isn't bad at all!).. happy flying
I'll second everyone else... Take a peak at the flights out of Orlando to SF. Otherwise, Omaha and MSP are the two other options.
