The handball call was also a joke. If you watch it in slow motion both Canadians are turning away, not reaching for the ball. The ball is headed straight for their chests and it hits their arms. What are they supposed to do, cut off their arms?
I think the Canadian women were upset they couldn't win gold and sit on the field drinking booze and smoking cigars like the classy ladies they are. <sarcasm>
I didn't see that. I've just heard all the flack for the U.S. women putting on their premade t-shirts after the game that say,
"greatness has been found".
Is that in bad taste? Maybe. They did work hard for it, but had some luck on the way as well.
I personally might have chosen a more humble, less in your face route. I hate the way the U.S. comes off sometimes so I'm very careful about that stuff.

I was referring to the Canadian Women's Hockey team who won gold at the Olympics and took their locker room celebration out onto the ice in an arena in which smoking is illegal (they were smoking cigars) and one of the players drinking booze was under age for drinking in that area of Canada.

Just saw the news story you spoke about. Agree it was in very bad taste in so many ways and they should be ashamed of themselves. Nike should also be ashamed for having done this. Those women should not have accepted the shirts or at the very least, not worn the shirts until outside the Olympic stadium.
Doing this in the locker room, back at Olympic apartments, our out in town, agree. Out on the Olympic ice while breaking two local laws in the process is wrong.

sounds very serious, how much time did they end up doing?

I think the IOC had to call their mommies to come pick them up and they were grounded for a couple of weeks.
