All these flag rallies kinda scare me. Could these people actually get power? Would that be dangerous?

They're fringe, and further "out there" with every passing day. You're going to see that anywhere from TX to VA. Most people don't give the Confederate flag much thought.

Erik,
Upstatebooster is right.
Southerners want jobs to support their families.
The fringe few nuts seem to get all the press, not the ordinary
hard working person. Remember that.

Why someone would come to a South Carolina thread to ask this question? Seems the only people REALLY obsessed with this supposed great Southern conspiracy are non-Southerners. Enough.

So, I agree. Yes, a troll - especially seeing the other threads started by this person are:

liberalism and socialism are correct.

The United States was founded as an empire.

are you ripe for demagogues and charismatic leaders?

should missouri be split on half?

Guys, it's time to dissolve the union.

To all the native people from Mass.

You're seeing a lot of this right now because it's the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Everybody in the state is not taking it in stride, I can assure you that.

I remember the slogan "Its Heritage Not Hate" many turned it around to say its "Its the Heritage of Hate". Heritage to some, Hate to others, Some use it as a symbol of their Hate, and some are indifferent.. it just depends on your perspective.....

True.

Many view the Confederate flag as hate and many view it as history.

Many view the Nation of Islam and Black Panther parties as hate and many view them as having a positive purpose.

Hate happens everywhere in the world, sadly.
