My wife I got married at Myrtle Beach State Park last year and spent the week in Myrtle Beach and we fell in love with it! We would love to move to South Carolina, in the not too distant future. We sold her house and now we have a little money for a down payment, so we'd like to do it very soon. Before the money disappears.

Here is my question: I am a software engineer, with 22 years of experience and I wondered where the best place in SC would be to find work, in my field?

We are both from the Upstate NY area and we would like to escape the cold weather, as well as find a place close to the beach to live.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Paul

Charleston is your best bet most likely for IT jobs near the coast.

There are so many insurance companies, government jobs,
IT is going crazy in Columbia.
Check online for IT jobs in Columbia, you will be surprised.

I'm going to assume you meant Silicon Harbor, though I've seen a few augmented divorcees around that town who could make a case for your version.

We're from Rochester, originally.

Appears that there are a lot of tech jobs springing up in Columbia, these days. I'm partial to Greenville, and I've lived in Columbia so i know the area, but where you can find steady work is most important in this job market.

Good luck.
