Three municipalities in Beaufort County are among the top six Best Towns to Raise a Family in South Carolina in Niche's 2015 rankings:
  • Town of Bluffton; ranked third
  • Town of Port Royal; ranked fourth
  • City of Beaufort; ranked sixth
Thirty-one municipalities were on the list for South Carolina.

No Charleston cities? Mt P or Summerville? Abbeville and Batesburg above Anderson? Spartanburg so high but Florence so low?

Not much weight to this list imo. At all. Really, Orangeburg, Hartsville, Laurens, Abbeville above...Mount Pleasant??? Sure, okay.

Crime is bad in Beaufort. I lived there for three years and many friends and neighbors had their house robbed. Yes, and too many shootings for such a small town. Do your due diligence before moving to Beaufort. We were lucky to escape in 2014...

Crime in Beaufort isn't really that bad at all. I've lived there most of my life and I've only been robbed once, which was while I was living in a shady part of town.
