2015 Gold & Silver Shovel Awards: Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Nevada Awarded Gold Shovel - Area Development

SC wins recognition for its economic development, along with Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and Nevada.

In fact, job creation in the Palmetto State is expected to grow by another 1.9 percent in 2015, echoing the 2 percent increase last year, according to a University of South Carolina economist. Business-friendly policies including top-notch workforce-training programs and incentives have fueled SC' progress.

“South Carolina has been winning tremendous new business per capita,” says Andy Mace, managing director of Global Business Consulting, Supply-Chain Solutions, for Cushman & Wakefield. “That state is punching above its fighting weight.”

Congratulations, that's awesome. Meanwhile Connecticut has raised taxes so high most of our major employers are threatening to leave the state and at least one has already committed to (General Electric). Keep up the good work SC.

The rest of the decade will be huge thanks to Charleston, completion of dredging the harbor, the new terminal and the panama canal completion which is next year i think.

SC has two major GE facilities. I believe they both are the headquarters for their division of the company.

SC is going to blow up if we are able to elect a Republican president in 2016. It has done well even if the worst depression since the great depression.
