Hi Florence and surrounding areas! My husband and I are moving from Fayetteville, NC to Florence, SC in September 2017. He will be recruiting for the USAF. I am a registered dental hygienist and from fayetteville, nc. This is a stressful move for me: I am 15weeks pregnant (with our first) and I will be giving up a job I love. I am very happy in our house and my family lives here, only 15min away, as well. I am thankful the drive is only 1.5hrs away. I would like to change the life we have built here as little as possible. I am hoping I have little trouble getting my dental hygiene license in SC. I have been searching for jobs in the area for close to a year now and it seems so bleek. The closest jobs seems to be 1.5hrs away. I will need to work and it seems there arent many dental offices in the area. I also have my bachelors degree in communication but only 1-2 experience in the field (before I began dental hygiene), yet I still have yet find any opportunities career wise. I have also been looking at homes to rent; similiar to what we rent now. I really enjoy our home; 3 bedrooms, large bonus room, 2.5 baths, 2 car garage. We pay $1150 a month. There are no houses similiar to this in florence. There seems to be hardly any houses at all. Im feeling discouraged, disappointed and so defeated. Please, please, please Florence, SC help me out! It can't be that bad there lol; feel free to spam me with houses, information on the best neighborhoods, daycares, job opportunities and the like. I just want a seamless transition. I feel like I'm giving up so much here and I want to try and love Florence, SC. TIA!!
Florence has its good and bad parts. It is not some place I would choose to live in forever but as your hubby is in the USAF I expect there will be another relocation down the road so Florence will be just fine for a few year stop.
