I'm so tired of winter! We got another 2 inches last night. I'm so done with living up here in the deep freeze.

Tell me, are there companies in SC that will come and "snake proof" your house? You know, make sure there aren't any holes or openings where a snake can get into the house. What aboUT outside. Can they help with making your yard/lawn less snake friendly?? Thanks!!

I've lived in the south for most of my life and I've never seen a snake in a house.
If you keep your ac on, they'll find your house too cold. They may end up under a crawlspace or mulch or something, but usually stay outside the house unless you left the door open all day in the summer.

That's good to know. My husband is terrified of them and if he found one in the house he'd freak and never set foot in there again. I've seen pictures of them on people's counters (after eggs) and another picture of 2 snakes intertwined hanging down from the opening going into the attic. I wouldn't want to worry about a snake in the house. That's a bit creepy for me.

We had a snake in the house once, many years ago! We use to burn wood and evidentially he was curled up in the wood pile and came in when we restocked wood for the night.

While they can be creepy, and in some cases dangerous, they also keep mice and other rodents at bay.

Lol. My sister in law is very scared of snakes. One time a a garter snake came inot her house with the firewood too. Well, she saw a snake in the kitchen in the middle of the kitchen floor. She kicked it to the side because she thought it was her sons toy rubber snake. When it slithered away she freaked and ran outside. Wouldn't go back in until my brother got it outside. Lol
