Hi everyone! I need a little help. DH and I are looking into moving to your wonderful state from NJ. What we need is info about jobs.

DH is Assistant Parts Manager for a Chevrolet Dealership - I need to know the dealerships in the area so we can start polling for salaries and such - he's been with GM dealerships for the las 15 years. If you could tell me what dealerships are in the area I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and If you have any idea what kind of pay he should expect that would be great too.

He's also considering going to school for HVAC - how is that industry down there?

I am an executive/administrative assistant - I don't think I'll have too hard a time finding decent work. If thats not the case - let me know.

Thanks everyone!

What part of the state are you looking to move to? You can search on Monster.com & Hot Jobs to get an idea of administrative jobs. I know in my area near Myrtle Beach there are tons of car dealerships and from I hear they are always looking for help. You can go to web sites for any car company and they have links on them to find locations. Hope that helps but let us know what area.

Thanks Rapture. We are pretty open...I also posted the same in the York County and Charleston Area sections. Not getting much response though. I appreciate your help.

Administrative jobs start out around $8 - $12 per hour. Not sure about the work your husband does.

There are 4 Chevy dealers in the Columbia area; I don't know about Charleston and York Counties, though.

Palmetto Chevrolet in Conway
Atlantic Chevrolet in Little River - they may have had a name change in the last little while
Myrtle Beach Chevrolet - Myrtle Beach
Hyatt Pontiac Buick GMC
Coastal of Georgetown

There are dealers of all varieties EXCEPT exotics here in MB.

HVAC is hit and miss now with the little burp in the housing market. For someone who wants to start a small business doing service, I think they could do well assuming two things.
1- Provide impeccable service at a good price
2- Be there when you say you will and do what you say you will do.

Good luck and keep us informed...
