Per Country Living.

SC is well represented.

Disclaimer: I understand this list and similar lists are 'click bait' and subjective.

This is probably first beautiful campus list that I've seen that didn't have Furman. Yet it has Texas A&M which a lot of people say is ugly.

I had daughters at CoC and Furman at the same time, so we spent a fair amount of time on two beautiful campuses, but the winner hands down was CoC.

I quit falling for the click-bait after UT-Austin and Texas A&M were included.

College of Charleston's campus is surprisingly nice. Driving by it on Calhoun Street gave me a bad impression. I can't think of another college campus that looks like that. It is too bad they didn't locate it closer to the Battery park and the water though.

It is surprising COC didn't end up being SC's 'flagship' university given it is the oldest college in the south in one of the oldest cities in the US. Most of the old colleges like COC are viewed as uber prestigious and ranked high by US News. Given the hype Charleston gets, it seems like COC would be one of the most selective schools in the country.

I was surprised and pleased by this list, too. University of South Carolina made the “safest” campuses list.

USC ranks among the safest campuses in the country | The State

Hard to get proper impressions by driving by. If you actually walk around the campus you can see reasons why its been voted the most beautiful in America and why movies and TV love filming there. Small, but amazing campus. The location is actually perfect too. The water is closer than it looks and is close enough to still be an asset.

I also take objection to UF being left off. Amazing campus, especially the core part, dont understand the snub.

I got a good enough impression from Google maps streetview. I understand that you can't get a good impression driving by the campus. That was my point.

I have no reason to walk the campus. I said it looks like a nice campus after checking it out on Google.

I lived in Charleson. I'm aware of the campus location relative to the water. I'm not saying it is a terrible location.

I'd probably would have Mercer in the top 25 in the south. At least the old part of it. Nice architecture. Plus Furman and Virginia Tech.

My favorite two in the south are Clemson and UVA. I'd probably put UGA third.

Relax, no one said you must walk the campus or that you know nothing about Charleston. I simply said walking a campus is how you get the full effect and that the location is central. Streetview isn't reliable either, but whatever.

CV taking the ten minutes to walk through the CoC campus is well worth it.Go in through Porter's Lodge and take a left at the cistern and walk through to Coming street. There are also more pretty girls per square foot than anywhere else on the planet.

In my experience, that designation belongs to UGA in Athens.
