The coming soon sign is up for a new development at Pamplico Hwy and Church streets. Slims Chicken and DD’s and another to be determined out parcel. The new Peach cobbler factory is going in the new shopping strip on Irby st in front of the new southside Planet Fitness.

Bed Bath and Beyond will be closing in Florence

Two locations in SC are closing. Along with Florence, the Two Notch Road location in Columbia will close as well.

Sorry to hear, but I'm not surprised. Eventually, based on foot traffic that I've seen, Kohl's will join them.

Yet somehow, someway, Roses, located at Southpark, in it's dated early '70's building, survives.

Roses has the cheapest jeans and certain items. U can also still find old style phone chargers in their notorious electronics section. Or buy an Eddie Murphy dvd from 1989.

Wow if it is the one with him in Trading Places... I probably saw it when I was shopping for cheap home goods when I went to FMU in the 90s. Roses must have a solid business model.They have outlasted K Mart Big Lots, Maxway and Ollies in some places There are even a couple up here in Maryland..I guess if it aint broke....

MUSC is opening a new hospital in Cades... Black River. Not really Florence, but south of it and Lake City.

While Bed Bath and Beyond is closing in Florence another company is coming. Yet to be named company only known as project Veteran will bring 80 jobs and 26 million dollar investment. The resolution to bring the manufacturing company is before county council.

The hotel opening behind the Holiday Inn Express will be a Hilton Garden Inn. (Hwy 327)

This will be the 2nd location in Florence with that brand.
