The phone and power companies vary in different areas of the state. I think that most of the area around Greenville has Bell South for phone service and Duke Power for power.

Our electric is through Duke Power (Tega Cay/Fort Mill) and we have our bill on their equal payment plan (so there are no surprises each month) and that is $85.00 (for a home that is over 3,000 square ft.)

The one you might also want to know about is the Gas (York County Gas Co)...this one is all over the board. The most expensive time is in winter with the average being around $145 a month..the rest of the year will vary anywhere from $123 to as low as $22?

Phoenix in the Summer is 300.00 and over. Winter is 80.00 to 100.00. So not bad not bad at all.

Yes, not bad. I thought it might be lower. Here in CA Elect. in Winter $360-400 / Summer $180 - 200 a month. Gas in Winter $160 - 180 / Summer $60 - 90 a month. Gas is the one that's not stable.

One thing that SC has that CA does not, but should, is Nuclear power. We have one plant but for 39 million people not enough. That's why we have power brown/black outs during the Summer.

Thanks for all the info.
