Well, it's finally here! We leave tomorrow for 4 days in SC. Thurs (late)pm, and Friday we'll be in Charleston, Summerville area. Then Friday pm and all Sat and Sat pm we'll be in Columbia area. On Sun we're off to greeneville/simpsonville area. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some great nightlife and places to eat for lunch and dinner (both casual and some a little nicer). We would like to go somewhere real nice for dinner possibly in each area. Also We won't have the kids with us, so some good nightlife, clubs/bars would be great! Thanks for all the help And Southern Hospitality up til' now!

Downtown Greenville is a must-see, esp. after dark. Be sure to walk around, and go down to Falls Park, at the end of Main St. We've eaten at Sticky Fingers, and Wild Wings, which are both rather casual. We didn't get the chance, but Chophouse 47 and The Peddler were both recommended as decent steakhouses. Lemon Grass (in Greenville) is supposed to be a good Thai restaurant. There's a great outdoorsy LL Bean kind of store on Main- I can't remember the name of it. Fun to poke around in, it's bigger than it looks. Have fun!

In Columbia:
if you want a fancy place, try Dianne's on Devine. (Devine St.). You might need reservations on Friday or Saturday night, but it's worth it. Great Italian food.

Otherwise, go check out the Vista one night (Gervais St., between Assembly and the River). There are lots of bars and restaurants there. the Blue Marlin, Doc's Gumbo Grille, Liberty Taproom, Motor Supply Company, Rhino Room - all good places to eat and drink. You can wander around and find bars all over the place in that area.

You could go to five points (Devine @ Harden @ Blossom), but it's more of a college area. You could eat lunch there at Groucho's or Andy's Deli - both pretty good places.

You also oughta try the barbeque at Maurice's BBQ for lunch. Good stuff.

Good luck, and have fun.
