Where in South Dakota would be a good place to find and photo graph rattlesnakes. I heard the Lemmon area and west of Mobridge are good places to look.

There are rattlesnakes all over the place in the New Underwood area in the summer months. You can pretty much pick any open field or out-of-the-way area. This time of year they'd be in hibernation though.

The Badlands would be another great option. Probably better for photographic purposes... more rocks, less brush, a little easier to spot them and get a nice clear shot of them.

I would try Reptile Gardens in Rapid City. I guarantee a successful photo shoot.

That's also as close as I like getting to them. If you can name one of the biggest advantage of growing up on a farm in EASTERN South Dakota is we didn't have to concern ourselves baling hay with these nasty little reptiles.
