I would love to locate to Deadwood. I am wondering is there much work for waitress/bartenders? Is it seasonal up there or are places open year round? I live in MN, so I can handle the snow and cold. It's the jobs and cheap rent that I am most concerned about.
Thank you in advance!!!

If you can work in a casino (smoke) there are options. Otherwise, not much.

A couple websites to check out are:

Dakota Roots
http://www.blackhillsweeklygroup.com/
Rapid City Journal | Front |
The Black Hills Pioneer & Rapid City Weekly News | BHPioneer.com | News for Spearfish, South Dakota > Classifieds > Employment (http://www.bhpioneer.com/classifieds/employment/full_time/ - broken link)

I hope these help, as ashnat said, casino work is about the type of employment in Deadwood unfortunately, they are opening a new convention center sometime this year, I'm not sure when but you may look into that. As far as rent goes, this website has a couple, I'd imagine that a majority will be around this range.

Residential Rentals (http://www.blackhillscabinrentals.com/residential_rentals.htm - broken link)
