Hello Everyone,
I saw all of the tornado activity this past weekend & was just curious how everybody came through in Rapid City & Sioux Falls or anywhere else in SD?
Thanks, Chewy
Thank you for asking. We came out very well over here close to the Sioux Falls area. The only problem that Sx. Falls had was more flooding again. We had a discussion on their flooding here at one time and we all thought it was fixed, but it wasn't according to the News Story they had on Sat. night. The city had spent 40 million dollars to try to solve the problems, but they showed some areas that were still really flooded. They said what they fixed turned out well, but they have several more areas to work on. They showed basements that were totally flooded and also some houses where it was at least a foot high. In my area, there's been a bit of flooding along the James River, but it's farmyards and fields and ditches, but no homes.
Hi Chewy, I just noticed you're from Naples, Fl. Have you ever been up this way?
No we haven't been up there yet but we are planning to take a look at Rapid City in June so we have been taking a keen interest in the area. I'm glad to hear that you came through ok.
Hi Jammie,
Yes we are leaving Naples and Rapid City is #1 on our list of choices.
The only thing that concernes me is what would happen to the local economy
if the Air Base were to be closed.Other than that it seems to be a good spot to settle down.
As far as snow goes we have lived in snow country before and it will be nice to have 4 seasons again.
