Hi there, were considering moving to Spokane. My son has hi-functioning Autism. Are the public schools well equipped to educate kids on the spectrum? Any particular school you'd recommend? How is support/services in Spokane? We're looking for someone trained in state of the art speech/social skills therapy. Sorry to bombard you.

There are several different school districts in Spokane and the surrounding areas. What grade is your son in? I know there were some other parents with autistic children who made inquiries if you read through the thread on "Best area to live in Spokane" -- there were several posts pertaining to schools that offered specialized services for autistic children.

A.W., it's a long thread but worth reading as it has a good discussion about schools. Here's a link to it if you can't find it:

My grandson has been diagnosed with spectrum disorder and I have yet found that the school he is going to is helping him. I am desperate as he is allready nine years old and very discouraged with even going to school anymore.
