Hello y'all,

So I'm thinking of moving my family out of Marysville for multiple reasons. We currently rent a small house with a huge barn and sitting on roughly 1 acre of ground, but it's inside city limits and right on a somewhat main road with 100's of cars passing through over night along with some undesirable foot traffic. We have three kids ages 7, 6, 3 and we are 30/37. Currently I work for a welding supply company as does my wife, I operate a submerged ultrasound machine testing cylinders for damage and certifying them for reuse and she works in the Executive Offices with our CEO... We want to buy out in a country setting and info on what we want is as follows: 1800-4000sqft, 3 or more bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2-30 acres of country land... We love neighbors but would like to not be able to just hollar for a spoon of sugar if ya know what I mean. I/we don't mind a 30min to 45min drive to work or shopping and just want a good quality/safe place to call home... We have 3 dogs and 1 cat also who'd be joining us on this new adventure as well... Any help or suggestions are appreciated and I thank you for your time...

Mike Schwartz...

Where would you be working? You said you live in Marysville now and you and your spouse both work for the same company. Would you be getting new jobs or transferring to a different branch of your company?

Getting new jobs... I've honestly never been to Newport but from what I've seen as far as homes and scenery it's beautiful...

Though I live in Spokane now, I lived in north Idaho (just across the river from Newport) for years and know it well. The country is very beautiful but the town takes some getting used to for many people. It's a real working town and some people are taken aback by that.

No, it was a bit annoying to hear a working timber town in winter described the way he did by someone with such unrealistic expectations.
