Honest opinions please!!
I'm a single female looking to purchase a home on W 11th, between Cherry and Ash. The house is three blocks from Polly Judd park, which looks beautiful. The crime map for this area is low, but I've heard many times that this is a sketchy area to live. Can someone fill me in and tell me why I should or shouldn't purchase a home in the Cliff-Cannon neighborhood???

I love that area, and I don't think it's sketchy at all. I recall once having made an offer on a house right near there on 13th and another offer on a place at roughly 11th and Adams. The huge old houses in that area are beautiful. The sketchy things you've been hearing about no doubt stem from how many of those big-old houses have been turned into multi-families and that brings a lot of younger renters to the 'hood. It doesn't have the feel of a high crime area to me though I haven't researched the issue. It's certainly no Felony Flats crime-wise. My impression is that down around 8th and below it can get a bit dicey (though 8th north of where you mention has some really nice old houses too).

The bluffs to hike in, pretty parks nearby, Huckleberries within walking distance ... if you like the house I think you'll probably be happy there.
