I am moving from Tucson, AZ which is both home to UofA and Davis Monthan Air Force Base which bring in a lot of people my age, early 20's. It's very easy to make friends here who are both single and don't have kids. Will this be a problem in Spokane? Or is it a mostly family oriented town?

Spokane is a family oriented town, but it's also a college town with Whitworth University, Gonzaga University, two community colleges, Eastern WA Univ., and the downtown university district. You shouldn't have any trouble finding other young people to meet. If you have certain interests like music, arts, coffee shops, etc. just check out the "7" section of the Spokesman Review or the weekly Inlander newspaper that will inform you of what's going on in Spokane for all types of activities.

Like Wendy says, Spokane is a family town but the 20's scene has gotten much better in the past few years. In addition to the universities there is also an air force base just outside spokane (fairchild). I'm not sure what activities you enjoy but the inlander just posted a very thourough guide to a bundle of clubs/bars all around town. There are lots of outdoor activities and you can check pollstar or ticketswest to get an idea of concerts/shows coming through town. The scene won't be as concentrated as a place with a major university but you will find one.
