We are in the Seattle area, but here there are two different offerings from Kaiser, HMO and PPO. The HMO requires the patient to go to a Kaiser hospital, much like we had in California in the 1980s and yes, found it to be less than ideal. My wife, however has Kaiser PPO . She can use various great medical facilities here that accept it, including Swedish and Overlake. I would check thoroughly into it, if the employer has Kaiser PPO option and Providence Spokane is in the network, I would go that way.

I wish we had access to Kaiser. There is a huge problem up here with doctor availability. I called last week 4 to 5 major medical groups and none were accepting new patients right now. I was told there are several mergers taking place among medical groups and they are trying to streamline their pool of patients. Ughh. Hopefully in spring things will be better.
