Anyone have a take on Nine Mile Falls? How are the schools? Looks interesting with the close proximity to Long Lake and the big lots.

What say ye city data?

Schools are good, but like every other public entity, struggling with funding.

Access to Long Lake, and the large lots are definitely a plus, as is the fairly easy commute to Spokane.

Just as an FYI, NMF addresses cover a lot of area, in both Spokane and Stevens counties. You can end up way out on the south side of the lake, almost to Lincoln county, or a typical residential neighborhood just outside Spokane, or on the North side of the Lake in Stevens county.

Yes schools are public and friends tell me they are good. The recreational activities are awsome. We love the summers there. Be careful in the winter/snow months though, 4x4 is definately the mode of transportation.

Where's WendyK? She lives in Nine Mile. She's also a RE agent, I believe. If she doesn't post, I'd DM her(see "sticky" photos at top of forum). :~) D

Wendy actually ran us around Spokane when I was out for my interview...which was invaluable. She was awesome. I know she likes it out there but she seemed a little reserved when we asked about the schools.
Just wanted to get some other's ideas on it.

Not allowed to talk about school districts favoring one over the other....sorry guys! I can give you links to all the school district info and let you decide for yourself what's important to you. What's "good" to one person might not be considered good to someone else. This is the state's report card on all districts for the 2007-2008 year that you can choose and compare districts.

Happy New Year,
Wendy I notice the two threads about nine mile falls are a few years old now, anything new one needs to be aware of before considering purchasing a piece of land around the lake?
We have a spot near the lake on five acres we'd love to know more about but we're on the eastern side of Arizona so it's next to impossible to come look right now, would love to see how the winter driving conditions are in person. We're at 6500' white mountains area so driving in poor winter weather is quite common but "Big Sandy" seems to have a reputation.
Hope 2016 is a great one for all of us here.
Thanks
