It seems as if the Big 12 keeps slowly falling apart:

"August 22 appears to be D-Day for the 10-member Big 12 as we know it.

Three sources close to the situation said Texas A&M's regents board will meet on August 22 to deliberate and likely vote on an application to join the Southeastern Conference as early as 2012."

Orangebloods.com - D-Day appears imminent for 10-member Big 12

I'm not sure that I like how this is all turning out.

As an SEC fan... I'm all for it. Especially if it means Florida State on the other end coming too. But then why stop at 14... grab Oklahoma and one of the Virgina schools and the SEC will be a SUPER POWER with 16 teams!!!

I think it is a good move (if it happens) for all parties involved.

The SEC gets some Texas recruiting and a great university as well as Dallas and Houston TV markets.

A&M gets more prestigious conference and more money from TV

The football schedule will be alot tougher though....LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida every year (ouch!) plus you know they will keep their great rivalry game with Txas

Actually, the Ags wouldn't have to play all the tough teams every year. You'll get your fair share of slop teams like Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss, etc. too

This could get interesting very quickly as the SEC would be adding one or three more along with aTm. This would spell the end of the Big12. Beebe is saying UH would be a good replacement for aTm. Are you kidding me? Beebe is a jackass.
nfm.
