Congratulations to Oracle Team USA for a brilliant comeback in the race series! Having been docked 2 races for past violations they had to win 3 races just to put themselves at an 8-1 disadvantage, they then proceeded to reel off 8 straight wins to take the series (and the Cup ) 9-8. Awesome racing between these cats capable of speeds ~ 50MPH powered by wind!
An incredible defense of the cup. One of the most exciting America's Cup matches to date. It's going to be difficult to wait for three years.
For those of you who missed any of the races, videos of the NBC broadcasts, (sans commercials), are available on the America's Cup web site, (and also youtube).

Reading some of the news web sites on the cup coverage, there are some ignorant people out there, (those commenting on the news story). Some say that this is not "America's" cup because there was only one U.S. citizen on the crew. For those who don't know, the reason it is called the "America's Cup" is because the winner of the very first match race where the Auld Mug was awarded was won by a schooner named "America". The "America" sailed across the Atlantic and competed against 15 other yachts around the Isle of Wright in the Royal Yacht Squardon's annual regatta. Since that first win in 1851, it has always been called the "America's Cup" in honor of the first winner. When the cup is won by other countries, it is still called the "America's Cup".
I wasn't able to catch the last three heats live, but the rest of it was amazing.
And good news. A Challenger of Record has been accepted for the 35th America's Cup! It will be Hamilton Island Yacht Club of the Great Barrier Reeef of Australia.
