the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Games in Rio will take place on August 5, however, there is heavy competition on that night; the theatrical premier of the Suicide Squad starring Jared Leto as the Joker.

the Ceremonies are a bigger that life event, its a big as the Super Bowl, well its Bigger, why? cause theres so much in the Opening Ceremonies, its full of excitement, theres music, arts, the parade of athletes. its gets us closer to the world.

the Suicide Squad is just another boring comic-book movie, lets not waste time and be so psych about some boring movie. the Opening Ceremonies and the rest of the Summer Games is something to be exciting about. I know im watching the Ceremonies as well as the rest of the games.

Summer games over Suicide Squad, period

no problem, the Olympics are in Brazil which is in the Southern Hemisphere so all their time is shifted 12 hours from us, or it's yesterday there...or tomorrow, I forget how that works...

No offense, but... is this a joke?

You can see the movie any time. You can also record the Opening Ceremonies.

There really is NO issue here...

Wrong. It's the opposite season, but the time is comparable to the US. It's 1 hour ahead of EST.

I am having trouble grasping the purpose of this thread, I thought it was about a terrorist plot or something.
But, now that I realize it's about some movie premiere..... I am sure there are hundreds of events being held on that day world-wide, none of which, including the Olympics, are earth-shattering.
Plus there's this thing called a DVR.
