A lot of people don't like him but I like Dick Vitale. He's really funny.
I agree. I understand that many people do not like Dicky V, but he is funny and the energy and the excitement he brings to the close games is unbeatable.
Dicky V is great. I know his shtick gets old but the guy loves college basketball and has endless enthusiasm for the sport. He doesn't manufacture that for TV, it's honest and authentic. He also knows the game which helps when so many on TV know so very little.

Vitale is entertaining to me. He sure knows his basketball. I also like listening to Bill Raftery.
It was a lifetime ago but my favorite was Cawood Ledford who called the University of Kentucky ball games. Listening to him on the radio was almost better than watching on TV.
I never cared for all the Vitale hatred. I like him. For a man his age, the passion and energy is awesome. Some of his stuff is cheesy but that just makes it more humerous. He's never made me not enjoy a game simply because he's giving commentary. It would be nice to have him doing Duke-UNC games again.
