Considering relocation to Springfield and have a several questions.

I am old guy, retired professional on smallish income.

I am divorced and looking for good woman 40-60 age range. I will be looking for places and events to meet a quality woman who does not care that I am not rich. Someone who is interested in a smart, educated man for other reasons than money and fine dining. Is online dating any good for the City?

I like to work out, so a good health club is a bonus,-one with a steam/sauna and jacuzzi.

I have some health issues, so what is the average wait time to see a GP and a specialist? I just read a post on this forum about a woman who was dying and could not get a doctors appointment due to upaid medical bills. Is this a common occurrence in Springfield?

What is the current rental price for small studio apartments? How good or bad are the landlords there and does the government offer any support to combat slumlord abuses such as broken air conditioner they won't fix in summer time, unrefunded deposits, illegal evictions or similar? The rental price in a neighborhood that is not a drug or crime center.

Is there any public transport in Springfield? Bus or similar? How good is the taxi service there and is it regulated to prevent bad drivers?

What is the political representation like there? Any Federal or State reps that are responsive to constituent problems?

Is there much gov. corruption there either at the City or State level?

really wishing for some good replies thanks

Lots of questions there.

Renting' buyer beware. Slumlords abound. Rip-offs of the typical types such as crooks renting a place they do not own. Ample advice upon the Web of how to protect yourself as a renter. Read and heed.

Health issues entirely dependent upon your provider.

How a "good woman" is determined is a very subjective thing. In the Springfield area, around one in 5,000 females are worthy of my attention. Some guys will latch onto anything. Your mileage may vary.

Look online for current rental prices. Considering that this is a low-income area, rental costs are deplorably high.

Look online for bus information. City Utilities handles that chore.

Local taxis are expensive, but I have not heard of any problems.

Local politicos serve the moneyed interests. Same as it is everywhere,

There are worse places to live than Springfield, and a huge number of places that are better.

Good luck!!!!
