Hello, all! Just a quick message to tell you of storms in our area...at least some of our areas.

I live on the east side of Ozark and we've got 40+ mph winds right now. The sky is dark and dopplar radar shows a storm heading SSW.

Here's a link for you...and below you'll see the Nowcast that I read at the site:
Springfield, Missouri (65801) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground

Nowcast as of 12:44 PM CDT on July 22, 2008

Now
At 1240 PM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Stockton Lake...to Fair Grove...to near Hartville...to Houston and Round Spring...moving southeast at 30 mph. The storms will affect areas from Springfield east along Highway 60 to Mountain Grove...and Winona. Wind gusts to 45 mph...very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning strikes can be expected from these storms. Gusty winds near 40 mph will occur well in advance of the storms. Rainfall amounts of one quarter to three quarters of an inch can be expected in the storms with locally heavier amounts in excess of one inch. Take shelter from the storms in a sturdy building. Boaters on area lakes should return to shore. Remember...lightning can strike up to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder...you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Auntie M! Auntie M!

It's gnarly out there! Thunder and lightening and WIND! Oh, my!

It's just starting to rain here. I went outside a few minutes ago and couldn't believe how the wind was blowing! Now, the wind is replaced by rain and close lightening! Yikes!
I felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I don't think they're saying that we're in for tornadoes or anything but it is radical out there! My CATS have even come in!

I just thought I'd come back and add a little humor...and some more reality, here.
