I am looking for a reputable place in SG to get a safety inspection. I have heard some places are extremely strict and will deny you for non sense. Anyone have any places they can recommend?

I recommend Slick Willey's Lube, 1744 W. Sunset. Went there a couple of months ago. Easiest safety inspection ever. Got to stay in car!!

Mostly that there was no waiting and nothing wrong with my car. I've always gone to the dealer, but this time I decided to find a place closer to home. They were nice too.

Be very careful with Slick Willys. I took my car (2013 Kia Optima) to the one in Hurricane a year ago when I first moved to Utah, for an oil change. While I was there I asked about the inspections since every vehicle in New York needs one annually and I had just re-registered the car in Utah. They did one for me without telling me it didn't need it, AND left lug nuts loose on the 2 wheels they took off to inspect brakes! I was lucky that I happened to notice it while cleaning the car the next day or I could have had a nasty accident.

I will never take my car there again for anything after that experience.

I do not agree, because it should be a good thing to do, if and when it is done right and would not cost an arm and a leg for a 5 minute job (in my case(s)).
Those pictures shown, are not what I see where I go, to get the *inspection* done !

I agree, because I do not think that 45 dollars is a good deal for a 5 minute job (plug in a doohicky, the computer reads the condition and then prints out a piece of paper !)

Then those *technicians* (!!) have the gall to ask if you would like to buy your new sticker for an additional 10 dollar fee (besides the actual cost of the sticker) while the DMV office if 5 minutes down the road !

I have never waited more than 5 minutes to get the new sticker (where I go they an outside drive-by area).
Because I can not say *Thank you* (face to face), I always leave a piece of wrapped up candy in the jar when I sign for the receipt.

To me a safety inspection is just a means to get you in the door to pay for unnecessary repairs. Their are some cars that should not be on the road but at the same time, to get my windshield wipers replaced or my tint lowered or removed doesn't really justify it.
