Very true, the remote locusts as I like to call them have driven up the cost of living so much in these rural western cities/towns that the locals are now being priced out. For example Reno used to be the affordable option in Nevada if you couldn't afford anywhere in the Vegas metro but now Reno has surpassed Vegas in cost of living due to WFH people flocking there since covid.
