I'd like to know if anyone can tell me anything about these townhouses, or the neighborhood in general? I'm originally from IL, been living in the 'burbs for 2 years now, but still don't know a lot about the different neighborhoods.

We started out in Ladue, and currently live in Chesterfield. I realize that St. Ann isn't going to be anything like those areas, but I'd like to know if the area around that particular apartment complex is safe/good schools etc. as we have young children.

We are looking to move closer to Olivette, but don't want to go too far East of there. If anyone has any suggestions of other complexes to check out I'm open to ideas, I'm having a hard time finding anything myself. We need 3 bedrooms and would like a separate den/family room, and we have a dog. We can go up to $1350 or so, maybe a little more if the complex pays for water/sewer/trash and is awesome. We know to avoid Warson Village.

Cypress Village has always looked like one of the nicer apartment complexes in St. Ann. During my youth, it seemed a tad more "trashy", however as I've driven by it more recently it seems they've cleaned up their act some.

It's in Pattonville Schools, and while I don't think there's much issue w/ the Elemetery school, Holman Middle School has left something to be desired. It's not a bad school, just not towards the top end of Middle Schools in the Pattonville district. Depending on the age of the little ones, and their test scores, GPA's, you could try to Remington Traditional School off Fee Fee Rd as well. Remington has long had a high reputation within the Pattonville district, but it's based on a lottery system similar to city charter chools.

As to Warson Village, i don't know anything about them other than where they're located. Drive by them every couple days. The complex never looked bad, but if you've done some research, you're probably more knowledgable on the subject than I am.

I know 3BR apartments can be hard to come by, but at your price point and school district requirements it might be more difficult to find. You could easily find a rental home throughout Northwest County in your price range too.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Be sure to check out Craigslist as well as the MLS (Realtor.com is a good resource for checking the MLS).

Thank you for the input.

We tried CL last time we were looking for a new place, but didn't have such a good experience. Most people didn't bother to call us back, or would not respond for weeks then tell us the place was rented out. I will look again though just in case.

^I would highly suggest it. Every apartment I've ever lived in has been found off of Craigslist.

If you do see any that end with something like this:CX9XL($) don't bother -- they are a scam.

I've heard awful things about that complex. Rat problems and poor management. Definitely check out apartment ratings. Here is a link. Not too bad if you don't ..., Not Recommended, Jul 26, 2010, apartment review of Cypress Village Apartments in St. Ann, MO
