Does anyone in the county (well, South County, maybe) have a weather radio? Ever since I moved here, I have been hearing the tests every Wednesdy at 11:00 AM until three weeks ago when my radio suddenly did not go off. I thought it was my radio that had worn out. However, we got a flood warning several nights ago and the radio worked fine.

So, are they running these Wednesday tests now? Is anyone hearing them? Thank you.

We have not had any flood warnings in st louis county this month.
Maybe your region on your radio got reset?

But, have you had the tests? That is what I am missing. My radio has not given them for three weeks. Yet it does give the regular forecasts when I ask for them (punch the proper button for them).

As for another station, I'll take a look but, last time I knew, my little radio would get only one station.

What I mean is, if you were picking up flood warnings, maybe your region has been reset to somewhere other than St Louis, a region that is getting flood warnings.
There is a numerical code programmed into the radio that filters the warnings and tests. St Louis County is 189 (or 029189); St Louis City is 510 (or 029510). These codes correspond to the US Census FIPS codes. If your code somehow got changed, you would get the warnings for a different county and not get tests at all (since tests are only broadcast locally).

See if you can find the hazard weather outlook archives too. It is possible that there was a hazard weather outlook all 3 wednesdays (we have had a lot lately), which results in the test being cancelled.

But that does not explain why I am getting no weekly tests. I should probably be grateful but, until I got that flood warning, I thought part of my radio had died.

Tests are only broadcast locally with the local codes. If your code is wrong, you will get no tests.

My little radio only gets one station and it's been sitting on that station for years. I'll have Radio Shack check it out next trip there. At least it lasted far longer than the fancier one I bought a friend last year. Hers totally died within six months.

Thank you for the idea.
