I just wanted to share this St. Louis marketing video with everyone. How can this not make you proud to call St. Louis home?

After being gone since 2001, I think I'm going to be shocked when I move back in a few years.

How about "Delicious?" with the summer scenes outside Ted Drewes, and a shot of a bakery on the Hill?

A very well done video clearly geared at tourists, which is fine. My only qualm is with the slogan "St. Louis is one." St. Louis is one...what? There's nothing better than that?

I think they meant we're "one" community (or something), which is a bit of a lie, considering how fractured this metro region is. Oh well, still a good video.

It's likely being shown on the "Re-Elect Francis Slay" network...or anywhere he's going to show up...similar to the "we took lead paint out of homes" campaign.

Either way, it's a nice video...and makes us look far more cosmopolitan than I feel we are.

As someone who has only been here since 2007, and apparently missed much worse times...
I thought it was a very accurate impression. If anything, it felt a bit understated to me. When I do get my relatives from California and Arizona to visit, they are completely overwhelmed. They have a much different impression of St Louis than the reality and very much underestimate the city and region. It is actually the neighborhoods, like Lafayette Square that greatly impress them more than the attractions (though no one can ever believe that something like City Museum exists).

Here is St. Louis - YouTube

I like this one a lot, too. It's more sentimental.

marigold : you're right. My mother was overwhelmed by how much St. Louis actually had to offer, and how much bigger it was than she thought it would be (people generally just look at the St. Louis City population and think "oh wow that's small!" and don't look at the MSA).

As far as good St. Louis short videos go- I still have a super soft spot for the 2011 Lovin the Lou Winner- Finding You in the Lou. It's by far the premier video made about St. Louis in recent years, it manages to get a lot in, in a very short time with an overall upbeat, positive and youthful vibe.

(not knocking the OP's video by the way)

P.S. LDurbin thanks for posting the Here is St. Louis video- it had been a while since I saw that one (I saw it sometime last year). I'd forgotten how lovely it was
