Hello! I will be moving to St. Louis in 4-6 weeks and have determined the CWE is my best bet for using public transit/ being in a young professional area.

Wow thanks for that great info! I'm a little flexible on price, I will be working at the Children's Hospital in the fall so my income will be rising thank god lol.

I also forgot to mention to check Craigslist for mom and pop places, but be aware that Craigslist tends to stretch the boundaries of the CWE a bit. The area you want to be in ideally is bounded roughly by Maryland to the north, Kingshighway to the west, Newstead to the east, and Forest Park Avenue to the south. Happy hunting!

Unfortunately the MetroLink doesn't go to the Hill. If you're carless and don't mind taking the bus then that could work. But there are a TON of restaurants in the CWE, Downtown, Clayton, and the Loop that are all Metro-accessible.

okay good to know! I'll have my car but really wish to not drive it that much. Thanks again, I'm going to start looking at the places you listed and that specific area. My biggest fear was being blocks away from anything fun lol.
