Going to the Cards game tonight and looking for pregame eating ideas. My wife works on the north edge of Soulard and we'll be walking to the game. So we'll be walking from 11th and Park towards the ballpark and would like something along that general path. We've gone to Broadway Oyster Bar and would like something different.

That's a tough one, scocar, given the landscape between there and the stadium. You could hit the Eat Rite Diner, Rally's or Taco Bell. Of course, I joke. You might try J Bucks down on Clark. A nice pre-game sports bar scene.

The only thing I can think of is the new Flying Saucer on Spruce. That's kind of a testament to how screwed up the southern part of our downtown is that we're struggling to think of restaurants around Busch freaking Stadium.

BB's Jazz Blues and Soups is good

BB's Jazz, Blues and Soups is St. Louis' Premiere Blues house!!

I like the food at J Buck's

J.Buck's Restaurants

Flying Saucer, have only had a beer there, menu looks standard

BB's was my go-to pre-game destination.

Good to know for next time. We ended up driving to Square One and eating, then driving back to my wife's office and parking the truck and then walking from there. Won't go to Square One again. The service was bad again which makes them 3 for 3 in that category. The one other time I was in there (the wife went without me for lunch once) they had their Scotch Ale in cask. So I was really looking forward to trying it. What a disappointment. I'm not certain why they even call it a Scotch Ale as it had none of the distinct sweetness of a typical Scotch Ale. It was bland and boring. None of their other brews stand out either. Honestly their food is actually quite good, but not good enough to put up with crappy service and bad beer.

I'm thinking you mean 4 Hands Brewing; Left Hand is out of CO. Good to hear they serve some food now (I don't remember them having a menu last time I was there).

OP didn't mention time, but of course tons of choices in Soulard (Bogart's-some of the best BBQ anywhere, Sassy Jac's-great burgers, Molly's, and McGurks for starters. Chavas is decent Tex-Mex. PW Pizza on Chouteau is excellent, and of course BB's and Broadway Oyster. Bucks and Flying Saucer (not been yet, food gets middling reviews from what I've read) are nearby Busch. 360 at the Hilton is good but likely very crowded around game time (I don't go there then). It's not a long walk to Carmines or Anthony's Bar.
