I am moving to STL in August to pursue graduate school. I also have some programing experience so I am exploring startup opportunities in this region (i understand STL pumped a lot of money into startups recently) and was wondering what resources(job posting/organizations/funding) are available?

I hope someone with more knowledge is able to help - here are some areas that I think are involved with the start ups: T-Rex downtown on Washington and 10th, then the Cortex area on Forest Park Blvd. That is a much larger area. Good luck!

I currently work for a startup, and the job I had before this one was also for a startup.

STLCityMike is right; the cortex district in particular is a great place to shoot for, as they have a 4 hour happy hour every Thursday which is an awesome opportunity to network.

A super cool company to check out would be LockerDome

was just going to suggest Lockerdome! Company was started by a gradeschool classmate of mine, and they're doing a heck of a lot to fully develop an IT/Startup district here in St. Louis City. Enjoy and good luck!

If you're into networking and schmoozing and all that jazz, check out Venture Cafe: http://vencaf.org/venture-cafe-st-louis-2/. I went a couple of weeks ago and it was just swarming with startup people.

Yep, that 4 hour happy hour every Thursday is Venture Cafe at the 4240 building in the Cortex district. I've heard great things.
